Cameron Mackintosh presents a brand new 25th anniversary production of Boublil & Schönberg's legendary musical, LES MISÉRABLES, with glorious new staging and spectacular reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. This new production has already been acclaimed by critics, fans and new audiences has broken box office records across the UK. Cameron Mackintosh certainly enjoyed ‘Bringing her Home’ to play at the Barbican Theatre in London (where it originally premiered in 1985) as part of the show’s 25th Anniversary celebrations and on the 2nd and 3rd October 2010, for the first time anywhere in world, that three productions of the musical played in the same city, at The Queens, The Barbican and The O2.
This exciting new production has new direction and spectacular new designs inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. The music is by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, adapted by Trevor Nunn and John Caird, with additional material by James Fenton. This new production is directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell.
